Is This an Insect or a Spider? A Coloring Book
This coloring book, " Is This an Insect or a Spider?", is a simple piece that I published on the POD sites of Lulu.com and KDP Amazon. It deals with the subject of insects and spiders and their characteristics. I included some drawings of examples of these of animals. This coloring book consists of simple black and white drawings of some kinds of insects and spiders and references for further studies. This piece can be useful for your child to learn about these animals.
"Is This an Insect or a Spider?" consists of small bits of information, and simple illustrations of insects and spiders for the book. They are divided by the examples and uses of these animals. I drew some examples of insects and spiders that are found on Earth. For instance, there are coloring pages that show some kinds of spiders such as the jumping spider, crab spider, and the tarantula. Like the spiders, I placed some examples of insects in the book such as the butterfly, mantis, and bee. These drawings helped to show that there are many forms of spiders and insects on Earth.
In this book, I have drawn some illustrations of examples of the use of spiders and some insects in our lives. You and your child can learn how these animals can be either be hunters or pollinators. There is an illustration in the book helping to describe how a carpenter bee can help to form a squash fruit. On the first illustration, the bee pollinates a squash flower. The next illustration shows the squash fruit. I have added some illustrations of the tiger beetle, mantis, and a dragonfly to the book because they are predatory insects. They help to hunt down other insects and smaller prey, some of which can be harmful to us. Like these insects, many spiders are useful to us because they help to hunt down insects and other animals.
I added some drawings of the scorpion, millipede, and the crab because they are classified as arthropods. Like insects and spiders, these animals have a hard exoskeleton and joined legs. They are made different from insects and spiders. I added some pages of an insect and a spider with labeled parts to help your child to tell the difference between each animal.
Here are some of the coloring pages, from " Is This an Insect or a Spider? A Coloring Book" that you and your child can enjoy.
